I recently revamped my calendly experience in ways that makes booking calls more pleasant for me and my guest.
No more calendly.com/baugues/call.
I instead embedded the calendly widget on a page at baugues.com/call.
If nothing else, it’s ten fewer characters to type.
But now I own the real-estate around the time selector widget, and can craft a custom experience that’s unique to me versus the ten other calendly links you used this week.
I’m free for calls from 12-5pm. I protect my mornings for me. For working out, doing deep work, having a kid-free conversation with my wife, making progress on whatever is most important that day.
(Avoiding morning calls may be an east coast privilege).
45 minute appointments. We don’t always use the full time, but my 30 minute calls were often going over.
Calls only start on the hour (12pm 1pm 2pm 3pm 4pm). It frees a lot of headspace to know that if I have a call, it will start at the top of the hour. It gives my day a lot more structure.
